End of Lease Information at Fremont Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM

If your lease is coming up soon, you have a few good options. You can upgrade into a new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, or RAM, you can purchase your current vehicle, or you can return it. If you leased with another dealer, that is okay. Our team can still help you understand the process and plan your next step.

Common lease end choices

Most customers choose one of three paths at lease end. The right choice depends on your mileage, the condition of your vehicle, and whether you want to stay in a similar payment range.

Vehicle inspection guide

Before your vehicle’s return date, visit our dealership for a complimentary inspection. Many leases require this step. The inspection usually takes about 30 minutes and can be completed at our Service Center.

A certified inspector provides an assessment of chargeable wear-and-use, if any, along with options to make repairs prior to return. If excess wear-and-use is found, you can choose to repair the vehicle before returning it. You may also want to consult your insurance agent.

If the vehicle’s condition changes prior to return due to repairs or additional damage, another inspection may be needed. To schedule a re-inspection, please call our service center.

2. Purchase Your CDJR

If you purchase your vehicle, you may avoid excess mileage and wear-and-use charges. You are generally responsible for the predetermined purchase option price and any incidental charges stated in your lease contract or required by law.

These may include sales tax, vehicle registration, and a purchase option fee. Certain state and local laws may require smog or safety inspection fees. If you would like help estimating your total, contact our finance team and we will walk through it with you.

3. Return Your CDJR

If you decide to return your vehicle, here is the typical process. Steps can vary depending on the lender and your lease contract.

  1. Before your vehicle’s return date, visit our dealership for a complimentary inspection. It usually takes about 30 minutes and can be done at our Service Center.
  2. Prior to your lease maturity date, call us to schedule an appointment to return your vehicle.
  3. Complete a Federal Odometer and Lease Termination Statement at Fremont Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM.
  4. Sign and date the Vehicle Condition Report completed by Fremont Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM. This report compares your current condition to the original inspection report.
  5. Report the return through the lease customer network, or call us and we will help confirm the return was reported properly.
